NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
Pursuant to the North Carolina Republican Party Plan of Organization, including Article VII (Conventions) and Article III (County Organization), and pursuant to the Union County Republican Party Plan of Organization, adopted in accordance with NCGOP Plan of Organization Article VII, Section B, Subsection 2(a), notice is hereby given of a Special Election to fill the vacancy in the office of County Chairman of the Union County Republican Party.
Purpose
The purpose of this meeting is to elect a Chairman of the Union County Republican Party to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the previous Chairman. The individual elected shall serve the remainder of the current term or until a successor is duly elected and qualified, consistent with the governing Plans of Organization.
Authority
This Special Election is called pursuant to the following provisions:
  • NCGOP Plan of Organization – Article III (County Organization), which establishes the election and service of county officers.
  • NCGOP Plan of Organization – Article VII (Conventions), governing the conduct and authority of county conventions.
  • Union County Republican Party Plan of Organization (Preamble and Article I), which adopts the State Plan and establishes the county executive committee and officers in accordance with the State Plan.  
These provisions authorize the County Party to fill a vacancy in party leadership through the appropriate body of the party consistent with the Plan of Organization.

Time: Immediately following the adjournment of the Union County Republican Party County Convention
Location: Sun Vally High School Auditorium, Monroe, NC
Eligibility
Voting eligibility shall be determined in accordance with the NCGOP Plan of Organization and the Union County Republican Party Plan of Organization, including all duly qualified members of the Union County Republican Party Executive Committee and those otherwise entitled to vote under the Plan.
 
Candidates for UnionGOP Chairman must be a registered Republican and must submit intent to the Secretary, Erin LeCroy at [email protected].
 
Conduct of the Election
The election shall be conducted in accordance with:
  • The North Carolina Republican Party Plan of Organization
  • The Union County Republican Party Plan of Organization
  • Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised, where applicable
Notice
This notice shall serve as the official call for the Special Election and shall be distributed to all members of the Union County Republican Party Executive Committee as required by the governing Plans of Organization.
